A thank you from Mrs. Colorado 2022
To God be the glory! “For I know the plans I have for you” Declare The Lord! Mrs. Colorado 2022 at age 62 and its been 32 years since we had an African American Mrs. Colorado. I am humbly honored! Thank you all for your well wishes!!!
I have been overwhelmed with so many emotions! As a little girl in the 1960’s society said dark skin wasn’t beautiful. I thank God I had parents who poured love into my life and alway told me beauty lies in the eyes off the beholder and is very subjective. My parents told me I was beautiful everyday. Unfortunately society didn’t see the beauty my parent saw in me. I never had insecurity with my self thanks to my parent’s however, I realized later I had been placing a glass ceiling on my life thru fear and doubt. This pageant journey has taught me to break thru that glass ceiling by embracing my own beautiful uniqueness and not compare myself to others. I hope to encourage other little girls like me to embrace their beautiful uniqueness and believe the sky is the limit in what every they want to achieve. And that God has created you with intent and purpose. And you are fearfully and wonderfully made. This crown is not about the exterior beauty. it’s about being God’s beacon of light and hope to the hopeless and Inspiring others to be their best self.
I know God has a plan for my life and I am walking in my purpose.
This journey has been very challenging with arthritis pain and hip replacement surgery in a few weeks. Resilience and Faith would title my journey.
I’ve embraced the unique beauty in maturity and aging gracefully. I want to set an example and raise awareness that a healthy lifestyle diet and exercise can make a huge impact on brain health and aging gracefully. I hope to encourage, and inspire women of all ages to stay active and embrace their own unique beauty and feel confident in their skin at any age.
I look forward to an awesome year in the community with my Queen sisters Nikki Goss~Mrs. Colorado American2022 and Alyssa Torres~Miss Colorado For America Strong2022!
