Mrs. Colorado American - New sister title to the Mrs. Colorado title in the Mrs. America Organization. This title is the 1st Runner-Up placement in the pageant. Christina scored the second-highest score in the 2024 pageant.

Congratulations to Christina Joymon the newly crowned Mrs. Colorado American 2024.

Hello! My name is Christina Joymon. I am honored and privileged to be Mrs.

Colorado American, 2024. Proud to be a first generation Indian American; I was

born in Brooklyn, New York and was raised in Bergen County, New Jersey. Dr. Jess

Joymon and I have been married for 16 years and we have two sons, Xavier (11)

and Issac (9).

I received my Bachelors in Computer Engineering from Drexel University and my

Masters in Systems Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. I am the first

Asian woman to become President of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics

Engineers (IEEE) and was accepted to prestigious engineering work study programs

with Lockheed Martin, Unisys, and GlaxoSmithKline.  I began my career as a

Systems Engineer and then a Project Manager at BAE Systems, a large U.S.

government defense contractor, where I worked with the United States

government on the communication systems between the F-15 and F-16 fighter

planes. I earned the Meritorious Performer Award and led my team to win the

Chairman’s Gold Award in Innovation, the highest award offered by the global

company.

More recently I’ve been helping people launch their tech startup ideas through

angel investing. I’m the Founder of XIA Capital, which explores forward-thinking

approaches to Artificial Intelligence and sustainability.

I’m an award-winning novelist, for my debut novel, Royal Planet. I wrote a story

that my kids would find fun and interesting, while touching on various topics

without feeling lectured. Some topics touched upon are colorism, racism,

adoption, trauma, addiction, narcissism, relationships, self-worth, family dynamics

and many more. It’s an uplifting story, with many twists and turns.

In November 2023, life led me to being a featured Keynote Speaker at the

LeadHERship conference at Stevens Institute of Technology, New Jersey. It focused

on reshaping STEM by empowering women and gender minorities and

championing social justice and equity.

And this is when I first learned about Mrs. pageants.  After the Keynote, I was

invited to a private dinner where I was encouraged to look into the Mrs. America

pageants. I remember flying back home to Colorado and learning about the

pageant system. I wondered if this was something I could even think about

entering. I realized that this could be my opportunity to be the woman I dreamed

of when I was younger.  My belief led to hope and my hope led me to enter the Mrs.

Colorado Pageant. I am grateful for the time I had during pageant week led by our

incredible pageant director, Emily Stark, and for the sisterhood that has embraced

me.

My wish is by highlighting what makes me special can inspire others to shine bright

and be the light for others. We need to be confident in our creativity since we are

never too young or old to make a difference, change and dream new dreams. I

want all of us married women to feel seen in all stages of our lives. I want all of us

to believe in ourselves and I hope to be that light for others this year.
